Badges are small awards that appear on your photographer profile. They work like levels: the more you share and the more different things you photograph, the more badges you unlock. They are a fun way to show your progress and to motivate you to explore new aircraft, airlines and airports.

You can see every badge, and what you need to unlock it, on the [Badges page](https://photos.aerohubradar.com/badges).

## How do I get a badge?

You do not need to ask for a badge. It is all automatic:

- When one of your photos is approved, AeroHub Photos checks your progress right away. If you reached the goal of a badge, you get it.
- Every day, the system also checks everyone again, to make sure all badges are correct. Badges that depend on views can appear after this daily check.
- When you unlock a badge, you get a notification in the bell at the top of the page, and the badge appears on your profile.

Only approved photos count. Pending and rejected photos do not count.

## Your first badge

The First Photo badge is the first one most people get. You unlock it when your first photo is approved. It is the start of your journey on AeroHub Photos.

## Badges you collect step by step

Most badges need you to reach a number. You get closer every time a photo is approved. For example:

- Number of photos: 150 approved photos.
- Different aircraft models: 10 models, then 50 models.
- Different airlines: 45 airlines.
- Different registrations: 45 registrations.
- Different locations or airports: 10 locations, then 65 locations.
- Different liveries: 10 liveries, then 300 liveries.
- Special liveries: 5 different special (non-standard) liveries.
- Views: your photos reach 100 views, then 1,000 views.

## Special aircraft badges

Some badges are not about numbers. You unlock them the moment one photo of a very special aircraft is approved. One approved photo is enough:

- F-22 Raptor: post an approved photo of the F-22 Raptor fighter jet.
- Space Shuttle Orbiter: post an approved photo of the Space Shuttle Orbiter.
- Air Force One: post an approved photo of Air Force One, the aircraft of the President of the United States.

## The most wanted badge: Air Force One (limited)

There are two kinds of Air Force One badge:

- The normal Air Force One badge: for anyone who posts an approved photo of Air Force One.
- The special Air Force One badge: only 15 photographers can ever get it. It has its own look, different from the normal one.

The special badge is not given for any photo of Air Force One. It goes only to truly special photos: a great position, great light, a beautiful moment. Our screeners choose which photos deserve it. It is also given slowly over time (no more than 5 photographers every 6 months), so you can still have a chance in the future.

## New badges in the future

The list of badges is not fixed. We will keep adding new badges over time, for new aircraft, new events and new achievements. Check the [Badges page](https://photos.aerohubradar.com/badges) from time to time to see what is new.
