AeroHub Photos and AeroHub Radar work together. When you upload a photo of an aircraft to AeroHub Photos, it can also appear on AeroHub Radar, on the card of that aircraft when someone clicks it on the map.

But not every photo on AeroHub Photos appears on AeroHub Radar. AeroHub Radar has its own rules, because its cards need a clear picture of the whole aircraft and its livery. Here are all the reasons why your photo may not appear.

## 1. Your photo has not been approved yet

Every photo is first checked by our screeners. Until your photo is approved, it does not appear anywhere: not in the gallery and not on AeroHub Radar.

- If your photo is still waiting, read [How long does it take for my photo to be reviewed?](https://support.aerohubradar.com/article/how-long-does-it-take-for-my-photo-to-be-reviewed)
- If your photo was rejected, read [Why was my photo rejected?](https://support.aerohubradar.com/article/why-was-my-photo-rejected)

## 2. The photo does not show the whole aircraft

On AeroHub Radar, people need to recognize the aircraft and its livery at a glance. That is why only photos that show the whole aircraft are used on the map.

Photos that show only a part of the aircraft are not used on AeroHub Radar, for example:

- Close-ups of an engine, the landing gear, the tail or the logo.
- Photos where part of the aircraft is cut off.
- Photos where the aircraft is very small or hard to see.

These photos can still be approved and shown in the AeroHub Photos gallery. The screener simply marks them as not available for AeroHub Radar. This happens during the check, so you do not need to do anything.

## 3. The photo category is not used on AeroHub Radar

When you upload a photo, you choose a category. Some categories show the aircraft from the outside, and some show it from the inside. AeroHub Radar only uses photos of the aircraft seen from the outside.

These categories are not shown on AeroHub Radar:

- Cabin Photo: a photo of the inside of the aircraft, where the passengers sit.
- Flight Deck / Cockpit: a photo of the place where the pilots sit.

Wing View depends on where the photo was taken from:

- If the photo is taken from inside the aircraft, looking out of a window at the wing, it is not shown on AeroHub Radar.
- If the photo is taken from outside the aircraft, it may be shown on AeroHub Radar, as long as it follows the other rules on this page.

Photos in categories like Daylight, Night Photo, Sunrise / Sunset and Air-to-Air can be shown on AeroHub Radar, if they show the whole aircraft.

## 4. Airport photos are shown in a different place

Photos uploaded in the Airport gallery show an airport, not one specific aircraft. They are not shown on aircraft cards. Instead, they can appear on the airport cards of AeroHub Radar.

## 5. The information does not match the aircraft on the map

AeroHub Radar finds the right photo by using the information you wrote, mainly the registration, the aircraft type and the airline. If one of these is wrong, your photo will not be found for that aircraft, or it can be rejected. Always check the details before you upload. If you find a mistake after the photo is approved, [contact us](https://aerohubradar.com/contact).

## 6. Other photos are shown first

An aircraft card on AeroHub Radar shows up to 5 photos of the same registration. They are chosen automatically, in this order:

1. The most recent photo of that registration.
2. The second most recent photo.
3. The most popular photo.
4. The second most popular photo.
5. A random photo that is not one of the 4 above, chosen only from the photos that are available for AeroHub Radar.

Note: it does not always work exactly like this. Some aircraft have fewer photos than others. When there are not enough photos for every position, the system automatically fills the card with the photos of that aircraft that are available for AeroHub Radar. So an aircraft with only 1, 2 or 3 photos simply shows the photos it has.

So if there are many photos of the same aircraft, your photo may not be among the 4 shown at a given moment. The random photo changes, so your photo can still appear from time to time. New photos always get a chance, because the two most recent photos are always shown. And as your photo gets more views and likes, it can become the most popular one.

This system is fully automatic and the same for everyone. We do not make exceptions or choose photos by hand for any photographer, so every photo has the same chance.

## 7. The aircraft is not flying right now

AeroHub Radar shows live flights from Infinite Flight. Your photo appears on the card of an aircraft only when an aircraft with that registration is flying and someone opens its card. If nobody is flying that aircraft right now, there is no card to show the photo on.

## Quick checklist

Your photo can appear on AeroHub Radar when:

- It was approved by our screeners.
- It shows the whole aircraft, from the outside.
- Its category is not Cabin Photo or Flight Deck / Cockpit, and a Wing View is taken from outside.
- The registration, aircraft and airline are correct.
- It is one of the 5 photos chosen for that registration at that moment.

If your photo follows all of this and you still never see it, [contact us](https://aerohubradar.com/contact) and tell us which photo it is.
