When you upload a photo, you choose the aircraft and the livery (paint job) from lists. Sometimes the one you need is not there yet. This is normal, and there is always a way to upload your photo.
Why is it not in the list?
Our lists of aircraft and liveries come from the official Infinite Flight data. AeroHub Group is an independent community project, and we are very thankful that Infinite Flight shares this data with the community.
When Infinite Flight releases an update with new aircraft or new liveries, a lot of new information needs to be processed. This is completely normal for any technology: after a big update, it usually takes a few hours before all the new items reach every service that uses the data, including ours. Then we update our own lists too.
So, for a short time after an update, something can be missing:
- The update is very recent, and the new aircraft or liveries have not reached our lists yet.
- Our lists were updated while the new information was still being processed, so a few items were not added that time. They are added the next time we update.
- It is a special livery that is very new, very rare, or only used for a short time.
This is nobody's fault: not yours, and not Infinite Flight's. It is simply how updates work. It also does not mean your photo is not welcome.
The livery is not in the list
- In the Livery (Paint Job) list, choose Other (new special livery, type it).
- A text box appears. Type the name of the livery, for example "Star Alliance" or "Retro".
- Write the name exactly as it appears in Infinite Flight, so our screeners can check it.
- Finish the form and send your photo as usual.
If the aircraft has the normal colors of the airline, choose Standard Livery. Use Other only for special liveries.
The aircraft is not in the list
- Under the Aircraft list, there is a sentence: "If the aircraft you need is not here please use this form."
- Click form, or open the request form directly.
- Tell us which aircraft is missing (and, if you know, which Infinite Flight update added it).
- We add it to the list. When it is there, you can upload your photo.
Please do not choose a different aircraft just to be able to upload. The photo would be rejected for "Wrong aircraft".
Can I wait instead?
Yes. If you prefer, you can wait until we update our lists after an Infinite Flight update. New aircraft and new liveries are usually added soon after they become available in the Infinite Flight data. You can also use the request form to tell us what is missing, so we add it faster.
Good to know
- Photos of new aircraft and new liveries are checked first in the queue, because they help complete the gallery. Read How long does it take for my photo to be reviewed?
- If you typed a livery name with Other and it was wrong, the screener may reject the photo for "Wrong airline". If the button Fix information is shown, you can correct it without uploading again. Read Why was my photo rejected?
